A Grand Quilt of LifeA Grand Quilt of Life by Lynn H. Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fine collection of poetry by a skilled wordsmith...

“A Grand Quilt of Life” by Lynn H. Lee is a fine collection of poems that delivers a meditative perspective on the experiences of an Asian American immigrant. If you are looking for the poet inside the poem, look for the undercurrent that she has left, the continuous hint of feeling can be found everywhere throughout this work. It’s powerful and strong, yet delicate and descriptive. Pictures of emotional moods are painted beautifully. In my opinion, she has captured the essence of what a poet is. Highly recommended for all poetry lovers and it gets a well-deserved five stars from me.

Canaries Among Us: A Mother’s Quest to Honor her Child’s Individuality in a Culture Determined to Negate It

Canaries Among Us: A Mother’s Quest to Honor her Child’s Individuality in a Culture Determined to Negate ItCanaries Among Us: A Mother’s Quest to Honor her Child’s Individuality in a Culture Determined to Negate It by Kayla Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Essential reading for parents and educators...

The process of recovering from the negative impacts of bullying must always include asking for assistance from other people. If more people questioned themselves, "how does bullying affect people?" they would frequently discover the answers that they are seeking. Case in point: Canaries Among Us: A Mother’s Quest to Honor her Child’s Individuality in a Culture Determined to Negate It by Kayla Taylor. This has the potential to go a long way toward assisting in the prevention of bullying among future generations, as it has among both the present and previous generations. It is never acceptable to bully other people, and anyone who engages in such behavior would be wise to seek assistance as soon as possible.

The author touches on a great many important topics, such as the significance of diversity and inclusion, as well as strategies for safeguarding children in precarious situations. In general, I think that all teachers and parents would benefit much from reading this book. Everyone stands to gain from developing a deeper appreciation for one another's differences and unique qualities. Highly recommended.

The Female Breeders (The Female Saga, #1)The Female Breeders by Melanie Bokstad Horev
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A thought-provoking and entertaining dystopian sci-fi...

The Female Breeders: A Dystopian Sci-Fi Novel (The Female Saga Book 1) by Melanie Bokstad Horev is an unconventional and wholly entertaining experience that provides, thanks in large part to the captivating premise and the commentary on conviction's ability to overcome arbitrary inequities. How moral conviction can triumph over unfair systems makes this dystopian sci-fi drama both pleasantly surprising and extremely enjoyable from start to finish. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it. A well-deserved five stars from me. Looking forward to the next installment.

Double Devotion: A Millionaire Rockstar Second Chance Love

Double Devotion: A Millionaire Rockstar Second Chance Love Triangle (The Broken Hearts Trilogy)Double Devotion: A Millionaire Rockstar Second Chance Love Triangle by Sima Ben
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A well-crafted romantic drama...

Sima Ben’s Double Devotion: A Millionaire Rockstar Second Chance Love Triangle is Book 1 of The Broken Hearts Trilogy. It’s a great romantic drama that not only dazzles with its rich imagery but sweeps the reader with the complexity of the characters' emotions and feelings in what ultimately unites and separates them. It achieves an unexpected flow in its development and even more unexpected magic in certain moments. Nothing about the book is overwrought or over-the-top; it’s an impressively well-balanced, pleasing work. It’s perceptive on several levels, particularly in its study of romantic entanglements, its take on the role of the celebrity, and its commentary on style versus substance. This finds the author delivering a romantic saga that fans of the genre will enjoy. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Restless Children - Coping with ADHD and Anxiety Disorders Using an Integrative and Anthroposophic Approach

Groundbreaking and encouraging for children suffering from ADHD or anxiety issues.

The management of anxiety disorders in children is, from the perspective of many parents, an incredibly challenging task. However, it is essential for the adult caregiver to grasp the concept that worry is, in fact, a natural component of childhood. Every child goes through stages in their development in which they may suffer mild kinds of anxiety. Despite this, there are a great number of children that never grow out of this phase. The child will begin to feel fear, will get more nervous, and may even begin to avoid activities, places, and situations because of their anxieties. One can say that an anxiety condition affects the child because of the way in which they are suffering. The reader of this book will be introduced to a number of beneficial coping skills that will assist them in overcoming the challenges presented by ADHD or anxiety disorders in children.

Dr. Meron Barak, who lectures on integrative medicine at the Technion in Haifa, was born in Israel and finished medical school in 1991. He’s a family doctor who specializes in mental health for children and adults. He trained in Switzerland and Germany in anthroposophical medicine, dynamic psychotherapy, and ADHD diagnosis and treatment. In Harduf and Kiryat Tivon, Israel, Dr. Barak founded the first anthroposophical medicine clinic for acute and chronic disorders. He has been a medical doctor in Waldorf schools and kindergartens for over 27 years, providing workshops on mental health issues for caregivers worldwide.

As outlined in the synopsis, Dr. Barak states that over the past four decades, attention deficit and anxiety disorders have become the most common disorders in school-aged children. Despite this alarming trend, medical and educational systems have yet to solve either disorder. “Restless Children” provides an innovative strategy to help children with ADHD or anxiety issues succeed in school and at home. Dr. Barak's holistic approach merges medicine and anthroposophical pedagogy. His pioneering method presented here in this well-written and researched book is aimed at assisting children who suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or anxiety disorders to thrive in both their academic and family lives.

If you are a parent of a child that suffers from ADHD or anxiety issues or working with children professionally, this excellent resource offers ‘step-by-step solutions to ensure that every child suffering from ADHD or an anxiety disorder is empowered to reach their full potential.’

Groundbreaking, educational and encouraging, this book comes highly recommended. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
