Mac is still healing from her previous horrific case and is reluctant to accept another, but she cannot walk away when a hidden "kill kit" is found. Keeping both Mac and readers on edge, the hunt for serial killer Israel Keyes is riveting—he is cunning, always moving, and shockingly orderly.
Meehan maintains the suspense by blending slower periods allowing us to view Mac's doubts and grit with fast-paced passages. The narrative travels fast, never pauses, and the mix of mystery and emotional depth makes it difficult to put down. This novel will definitely grab you if you enjoy your thrillers smart and somewhat dark. Highly recommended.
