A creative sci-fi adventure that will take you on a mesmerizing journey…

Science fiction frequently investigates questions regarding the possible outcomes of new scientific, social, and technological developments while also focusing on imaginative and futuristic concepts such as advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life. “The Movement” (Time Corrector Series Book 2) by Avi Datta ticked all the boxes for me as a mind-bending time travel romantic sci-fi that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. Looking forward to reading more in this sci-fi saga. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me.

Poignant, funny, and satirical...

For most, nothing will be lost in translation here. The Doofus and the Divine: The Second Coming… and other things to do over the summer by Darcy Phillips is a parody of a biblical concept. It’s cleverly written and witty. This book is a satire, and a good one. It’s an entertaining, page-turning story that kept me engaged from the opening chapter. The duel core of the story is firstly about the friendship between Emmanuel and Oliver and secondly about the Second Coming of the Son of God. Apparently, he shows up in ‘an insignificant speck of a little dying town called Placard, in the boring half of Montana.’ Who knew? An oddball adventure yarn that comes highly recommended and gets a well-deserved five stars from me. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

The skies are dark, apocalyptic storm clouds block out the sun. But in this dark world, there is still romance. Brandon McCormick's Meat Cute: A Post-Apocalyptic Slice-Of-Life Romance Story packs enough gore that is liberally sprinkled with romance to make this enjoyable, especially for Y/A sci-fi fans. Recommended.

Around the World in 12 Years and 12 Square Meters: Memories and Insights by Steffen Russak is, at its core, a beautiful love story disguised as a travel memoir!

Overall, memoirs are a genre that allows readers to explore an individual's life story and gain a new perspective. “A Grand Quilt of Life” by Lynn H. Lee is a fine collection of poems that delivers a meditative perspective on the experiences of an Asian American immigrant. If you are looking for the poet inside the poem, look for the undercurrent that she has left, the continuous hint of feeling can be found everywhere throughout this work. It’s powerful and strong, yet delicate and descriptive. Pictures of emotional moods are painted beautifully. In my opinion, she has captured the essence of what a poet is. Highly recommended for all poetry lovers and it gets a well-deserved five stars from me.
