Surviving and Thriving the second half of Life – a must-read!

Midlife is a time of many transitions. Shifting hormones may produce hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, insomnia, and mood swings. Our growing realization of life's impermanence leads to taking stock of our lives successes and failures, how they've compared with what we expected, and what's next. We will be faced with our parents aging, ourselves aging, numerous relationship changes, leaving work, resuming work, and multiple situational influences which may destabilize our sense of self and well-being. In this excellent book, you'll find suggestions on how to cultivate good health, mind, body, and spirit, something I believe is paramount to surviving and thriving in all that midlife brings. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A groundbreaking combination of Western and integrative medicine...

Adi Zusman RD, B.Sc., MBA is a therapist, speaker, health coach, and educator. She emigrated to Israel at the age of 14 after being born in Moscow to two medical scientists. She became a clinical dietician after treating her own digestive ailments and turning the healing process into a vocation. She received her bachelor's degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, studied Chinese medicine, and specialized in health coaching and emotional eating disorders. She now leads the cutting-edge discipline of Integrative Gastroenterology, which combines modern medicine with dietary traditions and mind-body healing. She founded a course for dietary professionals, which created the foundation for her pioneering book, "You Gut This."

From my own experience, I know that digestive disorders can be debilitating and greatly impact a person's quality of life. While conventional treatments such as medications and surgeries can be effective, holistic methods can also be used to treat digestive disorders. Adi Zusman’s “You Gut This” (great title by the way!) offers holistic approaches in this excellent guide that may be helpful.

While it’s important to note that not all holistic approaches will work for everyone, and the importance of working with a healthcare provider to develop an individualized treatment plan, incorporating these holistic methods into a treatment plan can help to improve symptoms and overall quality of life for those with digestive disorders. I’m looking forward to exploring this book in more detail. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
